Q: What is the sample rate of the LabFlicker?
A: The actual sample rate is 640’000 samples/sec. But the signal is filtered and down sampled to 40’000 samples/sec for SVM and 5’000 samples/sec for PstLM.
Q: What flicker standards do Light Inspector follow?
A: With a LabFlicker you can measure SVM – IEC TR 63158:2018, PstLM – IEC TR 61547-1:2017 and Title 24 – JA8/10.
Q: What data can I get from a flicker measurement?
A: Beside the values mentioned above, you can also get: flicker frequency, flicker index and flicker percent. But it’s also possible to get the signal that was collected with the LabFlicker. This can be done through File->Export->CSV or Excel->Flicker or Flicker PstLM.
Q: Why can’t I start an PstLM measurement by clicking the button on the LabFlicker?
A: The PstLM measurement is a 180 second measurement, and it’s not really possible to hold LabFlicker steady enough for so long. We recommend that mounted on a steady arm and start the measurement from Light Inspector.
