The LabSpion® is a complete light measurement solution covering all light sources from small lamps and LED chips to large panels and streetlights. The 2-axis goniometer enables the system to measure the full 3D distribution field of any light source giving lighting professionals comprehensive LDT and IES simulation files.
Using a spectrometer sensor and a built-in power analyzer, the unique Viso technology enables fast measurements and ensures all data to be measured quickly, making other equipment such as integration spheres redundant.
The LabSpion is the ideal way to measure a wide variety of light sources ranging from outdoor lights to automotive fixtures and LED displays. The fixture is easily mounted and firmly clenched to the lamp holder, so the rotation of the lamp is both quick and silent. Most importantly, the lighting fixture handles light sources up to 25 kg and 1.5 m in diameter.
The installation process is very simple too. Place and level the base of the LabSpion on a steady surface, preferably in a dark room. Mount the goniometer arm on the base and the system is fully operable within 20 minutes. To obtain accurate results it is necessary to eliminate possible reflections from the experimental environment, so placing a black backdrop behind the system is advised.
The spectrometer sensor is easily mounted on a tripod and is placed at a distance depending on the size of the measured lighting fixture. The built-in laser detects the distance between the two parts, so alignment is quick and precise.
The LabSpion system is then ready for measurement. Install the Viso Light Inspector software, connect your laptop through the USB-port with the base, and start measuring. The process is entirely automatic with the option of manual operation. Data acquisition from a single C-plane takes 30 seconds, which means that is takes roughly 15 minutes to collect data from all planes.
Measurement data is then automatically saved in a specific folder in the form of fixture files. They are usually exported into PDF, PNG, IES, LDT and CSV formats to be further presented by customers in their reports.
